Nigerian rapper Laycon says winning Big Brother Naija helped save his mother’s life.
He made the claim on the ‘Echo Room’ podcast hosted by Teddy A.
Laycon said his mother was already ill before he went into the house. He added that her condition got worse while he was away.
“I said it in the house. When I was in the house, my mum was ill,” he said.

“By the time I came out, my mum was close to death.”
He said winning the show changed everything for his family.
“I am saying it categorically now, if I didn’t win that show, if I had gone and came back second, my mum would be dead now,” he said.
Laycon rose to fame after winning BBNaija in 2020. He later released his mixtape ‘Kashimaawoo’, dedicated to his late father.
