Femi Otedola, his wife and daughter, Temi Otedola at her wedding

Why I bought two houses on same street in Dubai for my daughter’s wedding — Otedola

Billionaire businessman Femi Otedola has opened up on how his daughter, Temi Otedola, convinced him to splash millions on two luxury mansions on the same street in Dubai just to host her wedding ceremonies with singer Mr Eazi.

The lovebirds, who recently sealed their union in a three-part wedding celebration across Monaco, Dubai, and Iceland, had one of their most glamorous chapters in Dubai. And guess what? Papa Otedola bought not one, but two exotic homes for the occasion.

Speaking at the wedding reception, Otedola revealed that for 15 years, he had resisted buying property in Dubai despite being shown over 70 different options by a persistent agent.

“There is this guy that has been showing me properties in Dubai for the last 15 years, I never bought. I am not exaggerating — at least 70 properties. But I never bought,” he said.

The tables finally turned when Otedola and his family went sightseeing in Dubai. After viewing a stunning home, Temi dropped the big line:

“Papa, you know I can have my engagement ceremony in this house, why don’t you buy it?”

Otedola admitted that her words sank deep.

“She doesn’t talk much, but when she does, it is deep. I went home thinking, ‘So I’m going to spend all this money on this house?’ Then something struck me, common Femi, money you spend is not yours, life is for the living. I called the agent and bought it.”

Eight months later, lightning struck twice. The same agent called him about another freshly completed house on the same street. At first, Otedola wasn’t interested but when Temi visited, he showed her the new property.

“Papa, this house would be perfect for our after-party,” she reacted.

Though he laughed it off at first, Otedola still bought it to make his daughter happy.

And just like that, Temi and Mr Eazi’s Dubai chapter had a mansion for the traditional wedding, and another for the after-party.
