The Idibia family marked a joyful milestone on Friday as music legend Innocent “2Baba” Idibia celebrated his 50th birthday in Lagos, surrounded by family, friends, and well-wishers.
But the highlight of the night came from his mother-in-law, Mrs. Philomena Osawaru, who didn’t just stop at prayers and compliments—she playfully gave the singer and his wife, Natasha, a special charge: start making plans for a baby.

“It’s a joy and delight to have you as my son-in-law… Innocent Idibia, at 50, you’re looking 25. When some of us are praying to age gracefully, God has done it for you already. You will continue to age gracefully, in Jesus’ name. Amen. By the time we come next, we will see the baby crawling around,” she said, to the cheer of guests.
Celebrating a golden icon
Her words sparked laughter and applause, adding colour to the evening. The celebrated Afrobeat star, known for timeless hits and his impact on Nigerian music, appeared touched as tributes poured in on his golden jubilee.
