Airport security at Gen. Tunde Idiagbon International Airport in Ilorin successfully prevented a stowaway attempt Ilorin on December 10, 2025.
The incident occurred around 1502 hours when a man, identified as Segun Martins, managed to access the undercarriage of an Overland aircraft that was preparing for takeoff.

Martins reportedly tried to hide between the aircraft’s tyres, believing the plane was headed to the United States and hoping to escape without being detected. Ground security quickly intervened and apprehended him before the aircraft could depart.
The suspect was handed over to the Airport Police for further questioning. Authorities confirmed that investigations into the stowaway attempt Ilorin are ongoing to determine how Martins gained entry into the restricted area.
