Liverpool beat Fulham 2-0 at Anfield on Saturday to pick up all three points in the Premier League.
Rio Ngumoha and Mohamed Salah scored the goals as Arne Slot’s side ended a run of three straight defeats in all competitions.
The result gives Liverpool a timely lift after a difficult week of results and growing pressure on the team.
Ngumoha opened the scoring in the first half with a fine curling finish after a strong individual run.
The 17-year-old showed quick feet to beat his marker before placing the ball into the far corner.
Salah doubled the lead just minutes later after a flowing team move involving Cody Gakpo.
It was Salah’s 256th goal for Liverpool and a welcome return to form at Anfield.
The Egyptian also made his first home appearance since confirming he will leave the club at the end of the season.

Fulham tried to respond after the break and created a few chances.
But Liverpool stayed solid at the back to protect their lead and secure a clean sheet.
The match also came during a period of change at the club, with Andy Robertson confirming he will leave Liverpool after nine years.
Speaking in his programme notes, captain Virgil van Dijk said: “There’s no shying away from the fact that the past few days have been particularly tough. We have to get our heads down, stick together and give absolutely everything. Nothing else is acceptable at this football club. No excuses.”
The win helps Liverpool’s push for a top-five finish and Champions League qualification.
Attention now turns to a tough European test against Paris Saint-Germain in midweek.
