Taiwo Fasoranti Resigns

Ondo SSG, Taiwo Fasoranti, resigns to contest Senate seat in 2027

The Secretary to the Ondo State Government (SSG), Taiwo Fasoranti, has resigned from his position to pursue his ambition of representing Ondo Central Senatorial District in the 2027 general election.

Fasoranti, son of Afenifere National Leader, Chief Reuben Fasoranti, was appointed SSG by Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa in 2024, shortly after the governor assumed office.

In his resignation letter made available to journalists on Friday, Fasoranti formally declared his intention to seek the All Progressives Congress (APC) ticket for the senatorial seat.

“I, Dr Taiwo Fasoranti, hereby formally express my interest to contest for the position of Senator representing the good people of Ondo Central Senatorial District,” the letter read in part.

He explained that his decision was driven by a strong commitment to public service and a desire to contribute meaningfully at the national level.

“This decision is borne out of a deep sense of responsibility, a lifelong commitment to public service, and an unwavering belief in the immense potential of our people,” he stated.

Fasoranti highlighted his over three decades of experience in the medical field and public administration as key qualifications for the role. He noted that he previously served at the State House Medical Centre in Abuja, where he rose to the directorate cadre before retiring in 2024.

He added that his recent role as SSG had further prepared him for legislative responsibilities.

“I remain guided by values of humility, integrity, and dedication principles that have shaped my personal and professional life,” he said.

“As I step forward in this journey, I do so with a clear vision: to provide purposeful representation, to listen to the aspirations of our people, and to translate those aspirations into meaningful action at the national level.”

Fasoranti also called on residents of Ondo Central Senatorial District to support his ambition.
