Ogun: Gunfire expected as police hold training exercise, Tuesday

The Ogun State Police Command has announced that gunfire is expected in parts of Abeokuta as officers conduct a training exercise on Tuesday at the 35 Artillery Brigade of the Nigerian Army in Alamala.

 

According to the Police Public Relations Officer, Oluseyi Babaseyi, the exercise is part of the command’s ongoing efforts to enhance operational readiness and improve marksmanship skills.

 

Residents and commuters around the exercise area have been advised to exercise caution during gunfire and avoid unnecessary movement near the site.

“The command assures the public that strict safety measures have been put in place,” Babaseyi stated, adding that the expected sounds of gunfire during the training exercise do not pose a threat to residents.

 

He urged everyone to cooperate and follow safety instructions to ensure a smooth and safe exercise.

 

The public is also encouraged to report any suspicious activities during this period. The Ogun State Police Command remains committed to maintaining safety while preparing its officers for operational duties.
