A Federal High Court in Abuja has found Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), guilty of terrorism.
Justice James Omotosho, delivering his judgment in Kanu’s trial, convicted him on all seven counts brought by the Department of State Services (DSS).
The judge said that Kanu’s threats of violence, killings, and his declaration of sit-at-home orders in the South-Eastern states, made in multiple broadcasts, amount to acts of terrorism.

Kanu was also convicted on count three for professing membership in IPOB, a banned organization in Nigeria, on several occasions between 2018 and 2021.
