Popular Fuji musician, Saheed Okunola, widely known as Saheed Osupa, has stated that he engages in voodoo as part of efforts to improve his life and attain success.
The singer made the remark during a stage performance at the 52nd birthday celebration of veteran actor Fatai Odua, popularly known as Lalude, held on March 30, 2026.
In a video from the event which surfaced on Wednesday, Osupa was seen addressing his backup singers after they struggled to match his delivery during the performance. He advised them to adopt voodoo practices to improve their memory and overall performance.

He went on to explain the items they would need, stressing that such practices do not make them fetish but are meant to support their well-being.
“If I don’t engage in voodoo, what else should I have employed. Is it Phensic or Panadol that will make me successful? It is not good to be poor and still not live a good life. Even if one is not enormously rich but should enjoy comfort,” he hilariously said.
Osupa further stated that voodoo practices are common, noting that while some people do theirs privately, he is open about his.
“Everybody practises voodoo. While some hide behind the scenes to do theirs, I do mine in the open. All those talks of mine that I rely solely on the Bible and the Quran are pure lies,” he said.
