Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Wednesday hosted American streamer and internet personality Kai Cenat at the Lagos House, Marina.
The visit marks Cenat’s second trip to Lagos. During the meeting, he shared his positive experiences in the state with the governor.
“Governor of Lagos State, Mr @jidesanwoolu today received American Online Streamer, YouTube and Internet Personality @KaiCenat on a Courtesy Visit at the Lagos House, Marina,” said Jubril A. Gawat, the Governor’s Senior Special Assistant on New Media.
“He shared some of his very nice experiences he has enjoyed visiting Lagos. Kai Cenat is in Lagos to follow up on projects and initiatives for kids and young people in the state.”
Cenat’s visit follows that of another popular American streamer, IShowSpeed, who recently toured Nigeria as part of his Africa tour. While in the country, IShowSpeed celebrated his 21st birthday and hit 50 million YouTube subscribers, generating widespread attention online.

Cenat, who has millions of followers on Twitch and YouTube, is also returning attention to his long-promised school project for children in Makoko.
Last year, he pledged $5 million to build a school there. Delays with land and approvals moved the project to Yaba, but children from Makoko will still benefit from free education.
In a recent livestream, Cenat said over $1 million has already been raised. He stressed that the project will be done carefully to ensure it lasts.
Fans have welcomed his return, hoping it signals progress on the school project.
