US politics has long been marked by heated exchanges, but a new suggestion from the Biden and Trump families has pushed things into unusual territory after Hunter Biden challenged Donald Trump’s two eldest sons to a cage fight.
Hunter Biden, son of Joe Biden, said in a video posted online on Thursday that he would be ready to face Donald Trump Jr and Eric Trump in a bout.
The idea, which was shared through Channel 5, a media project run by social media influencer Andrew Callaghan, has not been confirmed as an actual event. Hunter Biden also said he would be willing if it could be arranged.
“I think he’s trying to organize a cage match, me versus Eric and Don Jr. I told him I’d do it — 100 percent in, if he can pull it off,” Biden said.
Details such as where the fight would take place, or whether the Trump brothers would compete together or separately, have not been worked out.

There has been no public response from Donald Trump Jr or Eric Trump. Both are younger than Hunter Biden.
The idea comes against the backdrop of long-running political tension between Donald Trump and Joe Biden. Their rivalry has included personal attacks and sharp political exchanges, especially since the 2020 election.
Donald Trump has repeatedly criticised Biden, while Biden has also been critical of Trump, describing him in strongly worded terms during public appearances.
Talk of a possible cage fight also echoes other public rivalries that have drawn attention beyond politics, including the planned but never held match between Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg.
Mixed martial arts has continued to grow in popularity, with the Ultimate Fighting Championship also expanding its profile through high-visibility events.
Callaghan said the idea may have been suggested in a light way, but added he would help organise it if everyone involved agreed to take part.
