Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State on Monday sacked Professor Olanike Kudirat Adeyemo as Secretary to the State Government (SSG) and carried out a minor cabinet reshuffle. Professor Musibau Adetunji Babatunde has been appointed as her replacement.
Dr. Sulaimon Olanrewaju, the governor’s Special Adviser on Media, said in a statement that the changes take effect immediately. “This adjustment reflects Governor Makinde’s commitment to strengthening governance and improving the efficiency of his administration,” he added.

The reshuffle also moved Barrister Temilolu Seun Ashamu from the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources to the Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning. Ademola Aderinto, the governor’s Senior Special Assistant on Public Works, was nominated as a commissioner-designate and will be presented to the Oyo State House of Assembly for screening.
Additionally, Honourable Abiodun Adedoja was named Special Adviser on Energy Security, while Kolawole Elijah Akanmu was appointed Senior Special Assistant on Budget and Economic Planning.
Dr. Olanrewaju emphasized that the cabinet changes are aimed at enhancing the operational effectiveness of the state government.
