Chris Okafor fails to honor police invitation amid investigations into alleged sexual misconduct, with Lagos police confirming he did not appear as scheduled and his aides requesting more time.

Lagos SCID invites Pastor Chris Okafor over alleged multiple rape, other cases

The State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) of the Lagos State Police Command has formally invited Senior Pastor Chris Okafor of Mountain of Liberation and Miracles Ministries over allegations of multiple rape, sexual offences, and other serious misconduct.

The Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Abimbola Adebisi, confirmed the development on Sunday, January 4, 2026.

She said the Commissioner of Police, Moshood Olohundare Jimoh, has directed SCID to conduct a thorough investigation into the allegations. “The Pastor has been duly served with an invitation letter through his legal representative and is expected to cooperate fully with the Criminal Investigation Department, Panti, in the ongoing investigation into these serious offences,” SP Adebisi stated.

Pastor Okafor is required to report to SCID by 10 a.m. on Monday, January 5, 2026.

SP Adebisi reassured the public that the identities of alleged victims will be fully protected. “Any person with credible information or evidence relevant to the investigation is encouraged to come forward without fear,” she added.

“The investigation will be conducted professionally and transparently. All allegations of criminal acts, regardless of the status of the accused, will be investigated in line with the law. Justice must prevail,” she quoted CP Jimoh.
