Arsenal strengthened their position at the top of their Champions League group with a 3-1 victory over Bundesliga leaders Bayern Munich at the Emirates Stadium on Wednesday.

The Gunners struck first in the 22nd minute when Jurrien Timber headed in a Bukayo Saka corner, a goal that showcased Arsenal’s threat from set-pieces. Arsenal regained control in the second half. Substitute Noni Madueke restored the lead in the 70th minute after Bayern defender Dayot Upamecano misjudged a pass, allowing Riccardo Calafiori to deliver the decisive cross. The win was sealed when Eberechi Eze launched a long ball over Manuel Neuer, enabling Gabriel Martinelli to calmly round the goalkeeper and score.

The Emirates erupted as Arsenal fans taunted former Tottenham striker Harry Kane with chants of “Harry, Harry, what’s the score,” following the third goal.

With the victory, Arsenal remain unbeaten in the group stage, keeping pace with Bayern, and both sides are well-placed to secure automatic qualification for the Champions League Round of 16.
