Dangote Refinery net fuel export outlook improves as Vice President Kashim Shettima says Nigeria is on the path to becoming a net exporter of refined petroleum products, driven by local industrial capacity.

APC dismisses reports of plan to drop Shettima in 2027

The All Progressives Congress (APC) National Working Committee has dismissed as “purely speculative, untrue and utterly baseless” media reports suggesting a plan to drop Vice President Kashim Shettima as President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s running mate ahead of the 2027 presidential election.

In a statement issued in Abuja and signed by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, the APC urged media organisations to refrain from giving attention to rumour-mongers and “mischievous news sources of questionable provenance” whose aim, it said, is to sow discord and confusion in the polity.

The party also cautioned ministers, senior government officials, and party leaders against fueling unnecessary speculation, either deliberately or inadvertently, and advised them to remain focused on their primary responsibility of diligent service to government and the party.

According to the statement, such focus is essential to consolidating the achievements of President Tinubu, whom it described as a visionary leader.

The APC further noted that the ban on political activities remains in force, stressing that the President should not be distracted from the demanding task of governance.

“Under our laws and electoral regulations, the ban on political activities remains in force. At this time, our party is focused on supporting President Tinubu and Vice President Shettima in delivering the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda and entrenching its bold reforms, which are steadily transforming the economy, building prosperity, and improving the living conditions of our people,” the statement added.
