The All Progressives Congress (APC) has distanced itself from the leadership crisis rocking the African Democratic Congress (ADC), insisting the opposition party is responsible for its own troubles.
In a statement on Thursday, APC National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, said the Independent National Electoral Commission’s (INEC) decision to remove the names of David Mark and Rauf Aregbesola as ADC National Chairman and National Secretary from its portal followed the party’s violation of its constitutional provisions on leadership succession.
The ruling party welcomed INEC’s action, describing it as lawful and in compliance with a court judgment.
According to the statement, “It is irresponsible for the ADC to blame the APC for its internal woes of which they are the sole architects.”

The APC further accused the ADC of failing to properly manage its internal affairs, arguing that the crisis stemmed from what it described as a “reckless and desperate misadventure” by its leadership.
It added that the party’s inability to follow due process and maintain internal order calls into question its capacity to govern.
The APC maintained that its administration under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu remains focused on delivering on its Renewed Hope Agenda and strengthening democratic institutions.
