The Department of State Services (DSS) has announced the dismissal of 115 personnel as part of its ongoing internal reforms and has cautioned the public against dealing with impostors posing as serving officers.
In a statement posted on X on Tuesday, the DSS said the dismissals were carried out over a period as part of efforts to maintain discipline and integrity within the service.
“As part of the ongoing reforms in the Department of State Services (DSS), we inform the public that a total of 115 personnel have been dismissed over a period,” the statement read.

The agency also reiterated earlier warnings about two former officers, Barry Donald and Victor Onyedikachi Godwin, who have been impersonating DSS operatives to defraud unsuspecting Nigerians.
“Members of the public are advised to refrain from any official dealings with these individuals who have been dismissed by the Service,” the statement added, noting that the names of all dismissed personnel are available on the agency’s website, www.dss.gov.ng, for verification.
The DSS further disclosed that the two ex-officers—Barry Donald and Victor Godwin—will soon be arraigned in court over alleged fraudulent activities.
The agency reminded citizens that it had previously issued two public warnings about the duo’s impersonation schemes and urged Nigerians to remain vigilant.
