The centre-back, who recently led Nigeria to the final of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Côte d’Ivoire, clinched the Best Nigerian International Player Award as well as the Humanitarian Award in recognition of his remarkable contributions on and off the pitch.

Troost-Ekong, who was instrumental in Nigeria’s impressive AFCON run earlier this year, expressed gratitude to fans and organisers for the recognition.

“These awards mean so much to me because they reflect not just football but also the impact we can make in society,” he said.

The Humanitarian Award highlights his charitable projects and efforts to support underprivileged communities, particularly in Nigeria.
