England manager Thomas Tuchel has recalled Jude Bellingham and Phil Foden for the upcoming 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Serbia and Albania, marking their return to the national team.
The Real Madrid midfielder and Manchester City playmaker, both left out in October, are among 26 players named for England’s final qualifying matches before next summer’s tournament in Canada, Mexico, and the United States.
Bellingham, 22, missed last month’s games while recovering from shoulder surgery but has now returned to full fitness for Madrid. Tuchel praised his comeback, saying the player’s inclusion was deserved.
“Jude’s back to full sharpness and brings the energy we’ve missed,” Tuchel said on Friday.
Foden, who last played for England in March, is recalled after his standout performances for Manchester City. He scored twice in their 4–1 Champions League win over Borussia Dortmund on Wednesday.

“Phil’s been outstanding for City. His creativity and intelligence will be crucial for us,” Tuchel added.
There is also a first senior call-up for 22-year-old Alex Scott following an impressive start to the season with Bournemouth, where he has featured in all 10 Premier League games. Tuchel described him as “a player with composure beyond his years.”
England have already sealed qualification for the World Cup after thrashing Latvia last month. They will host Serbia on November 13 and then travel to Albania on November 16 for their final Group K match.
Among those returning are Nick Pope, Nico O’Reilly, and Adam Wharton, while Jack Grealish, Trent Alexander-Arnold, and Danny Welbeck are left out.
Tuchel also dismissed talk of any lingering tension with Bellingham after his apology in August for comments about the midfielder’s attitude.
“That’s behind us,” he said. “There’s total respect — I’m delighted to have him back.”
