The Ghana Police Service has confirmed the arrest of Evans Eshun, popularly known as Ebo Noah, in connection with cyber-related activities ahead of the year-end religious services.
In a statement posted on its official website on Wednesday, the police said the arrest was carried out by the Inspector General of Police’s Special Cyber Vetting Team as part of efforts to monitor online activities that could disrupt public order.
“The arrest was carried out as part of ongoing police efforts to monitor and address cyber-related activities, particularly in the period leading up to 31st night religious services,” the statement read.
“Police confirmation follows reports suggesting the arrest may be linked to warnings issued by security agencies regarding public declarations or prophecies that could cause fear or public disorder. At this stage, the specific allegations against the suspect have not been disclosed.”
Authorities noted that Evans Eshun is currently in custody to assist with investigations. No formal charges, court dates, or bail conditions have been announced, and it remains unclear if other individuals are being sought in connection with the case.
The Police Service urged the public to remain calm, avoid speculation, and respect due process, emphasizing that Eshun is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of competent jurisdiction.
Ebo Noah has attracted attention in recent months for his viral prophecies. He gained notoriety after building a massive wooden ark and predicting a global flood starting December 25, 2025.
He also claimed to have received a divine warning of a three-year rainfall that would devastate the world, prompting widespread media coverage and visits from people across Ghana and beyond.
In a video statement last week, Ebo Noah said the prophesied disaster did not occur because of a new revelation he received after prayers, fasting, and consultations with other religious leaders.
He explained that the new vision showed the ark could not accommodate everyone seeking refuge and that he had been granted more time to build additional arks.
