The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has announced plans to hold a special prayer session for unmarried youths, waiting mothers, and their families.
The announcement was made in a statement issued on Thursday in Lagos by the Special Assistant to the General Overseer (Administration), Pastor Oladele Balogun.
According to the statement, the prayer session, inspired by divine direction, will focus on singles, mature singles, waiting and expectant mothers, and families believing God for marital settlement or the fruit of the womb.
Pastor Adeboye noted that recent population surveys show that singles, including mature singles, make up more than 40% of Nigeria’s adult population, describing them as a “vibrant but growing segment seeking marital settlement.”
He added that waiting and expectant mothers, numbering in the millions globally, represent a deeply spiritual and emotional group, united by faith and hope across RCCG’s worldwide network of over 190 nations.

The statement further revealed that the special prayer session will take place during the November 2025 Thanksgiving Service at the RCCG National Headquarters (Throne of Grace), Ebute-Metta, Lagos, on Sunday, November 2, at 8:00 a.m.
“Participants across the globe are warmly invited to join this life-transforming encounter with God,” Pastor Adeboye stated.
While some Nigerians praised the initiative, others criticised it as misplaced priority, saying the cleric should instead encourage the government to provide employment opportunities rather than organise a prayer session.
