Wizkid, Davido, Ayra Starr, Asake top Nigerian talent in Spotify Wrapped 2025

Wizkid, Davido, Ayra Starr and Asake have emerged as the standout Nigerian acts in Spotify Wrapped 2025, leading the platform’s major rankings and reaffirming their status as the country’s most influential music exports this year

Wizkid tops the list as Nigeria’s most streamed artist, powered by the success of Morayo, which also became the country’s most streamed album. Spotify’s year-end report shows the project enjoyed strong longevity, with its “replay value” keeping it at the centre of listener activity throughout 2025.

Davido follows closely with 5ive as the second most streamed album and with his track “With You” featuring Omah Lay securing the Most Streamed Song in Nigeria. Its viral rise across social platforms helped solidify what many listeners described as a “cultural fixture” of the year.

Ayra Starr led the female category again, retaining her position as Nigeria’s Most Streamed Female Artist on Spotify. The platform noted that her influence now cuts “across genre, age and borders”, highlighting her consistency as one of the country’s clearest global voices.

Asake delivered one of the year’s defining achievements by placing three albums, Work of Art, Lungu Boy and Mr Money With The Vibe, inside Nigeria’s Top 10 most streamed albums. His dominance across multiple projects reinforces what fans often describe as his unmatched momentum in contemporary Afrobeats.

Although other artists also made notable appearances across Spotify’s charts for 2025, the data shows that these four names, Wizkid, Davido, Ayra Starr and Asake, shaped the bulk of Nigeria’s streaming landscape.

Spotify reported a 22 percent increase in global streams of Nigerian music, reflecting the continued rise of Afrobeats on the world stage. Commenting on the milestone, Spotify Head of Music Phiona Okumu said the numbers confirm a music scene that is “absolutely thriving”.
