Wizkid and Asake Joint EP Real Vol. 1 has been released, featuring four tracks and marking a new chapter in their collaboration, amid ongoing debates around Fela’s legacy.

Wizkid, Asake to release joint EP ‘REAL (Vol. 1)’

Afrobeats superstars Wizkid and Asake are set to release a collaborative EP titled “REAL (Vol. 1)”, marking a major musical event for Detty December 2025. The project promises to deliver the season’s definitive soundtrack and brings together two of Nigeria’s biggest contemporary acts.

The pair offered a first glimpse of the EP on Apple Music 1, appearing with DJ Tunez, Wizkid’s official DJ. During the show, they premiered a teaser track, ‘Jogodo’, which blends Wizkid’s smooth vocals with Asake’s energetic style. Fans quickly took to social media, praising the snippet and sharing their excitement for the full release.

Speaking about the collaboration, Asake highlighted the depth of their partnership:

“In our relationship, we are so close, so real. We don’t share too much. This is deeper than just making music, this is greatness itself.”

This release builds on a history of successful collaborations, including ‘MMS’ from Asake’s Lungu Boy album and ‘Getting Paid’, produced by Sarz, both of which became fan favourites.

Wizkid continues to be a global Afrobeats pioneer, with his 2024 album Morayo named Apple Music’s most streamed Nigerian album of 2025. Asake, meanwhile, remains a dominant chart-topper, with his 2023 single ‘Lonely At The Top’ officially the best-selling single in Nigerian history.

The EP’s title, REAL (Vol. 1), suggests potential follow-ups, though no further details, including tracklist or features, have been confirmed. The project is expected to drop sometime in December 2025, perfectly timed for the festive season.
