Why Regina’s mom should take bulk of the blame — Solomon Buchi

Social commentator, Solomon Buchi, has criticised actress Regina Daniels’ mother, Rita Daniels, over her decision to allow her daughter marry at 19, stating reasons she should take the blame.

In a post shared on his X (formerly Twitter) handle, Buchi said that while Regina also bears some responsibility for her choices, her mother should take most of the blame for consenting to her teenage daughter’s marriage to a man old enough to be her grandfather.

He wrote that Regina, at the time, was just a child driven by youthful exuberance and material desires, and that her mother should have guided her better, especially since her father had reportedly warned against the union.

Quoting his post, he wrote: “I don’t mean to absolve Regina Daniels of any responsibility, but if we are being brutally honest, her mother failed her.

“Consenting to your 19-year-old daughter marrying a man old enough to be her grandfather as a third wife is just ridiculous.

“Regina was just a child. She may have been exuberant and driven by material things, but she was just a teenager.

Buchi further advised Rita to put aside her pride, reconcile with the man involved, and allow both families to part ways peacefully, noting that the situation had already become embarrassing.

“Her mother should get the bulk of the blame especially because Regina’s father warned her. She should swallow the drop of what’s left of her pride and mobilise her children to apologise to the old man, so they can peacefully part ways because it’s already embarrassing enough. May God give children wise parents,” he concluded.
