Chief Obio Julius blasts pastors

VIDEO: You can’t condemn politicians and still collect their tithe, Chief Obio Julius blasts pastors

A video circulating on Instagram has captured Nigerian businessman, Obio Julius, criticising some pastors over what he described as double standards in their dealings with politicians.

In the video, Obio Julius called out clerics who publicly condemn politicians from the pulpit but still accept their financial contributions in private.

“You can’t condemn politicians on the pulpit and still collect their tithe in private. Pick a side,” he said.

He further questioned the sincerity of such actions, insisting that religious leaders should be consistent in their stance, especially when it comes to money perceived as questionable.

“If their money is truly ‘corrupt,’ tell them to stop giving it publicly. No double standards,” he added.

The remarks have sparked reactions online, with many social media users weighing in on the relationship between religious institutions and political figures.

While some agreed with his position, others argued that places of worship should remain open to all, regardless of background, including politicians.
