Angry constituents in Dansadau town, Maru Local Government Area of Zamfara State, reportedly attacked a state lawmaker over alleged neglect and poor performance.

The incident occurred when Kabiru Mikailu, representing Maru South Constituency in the Zamfara State House of Assembly, accompanied Governor Dauda Lawal on a historic visit to the community on Tuesday, December 17, 2025.

The visit was meant to flag off key development projects in the troubled area, but the trip was overshadowed by the furious reaction of the residents.

Many accused the lawmaker of neglecting the community since his election, claiming he had failed to attend Sallah festivities or console families affected by repeated bandit attacks.
