President Bola Tinubu on Thursday presided over a meeting of the National Caucus of the All Progressives Congress (APC) at the State House Conference Centre, Abuja.
The session began at 7:38 p.m. with the arrival of the President, marking the party’s second caucus gathering in 2025.
The meeting comes as the APC prepares for its National Executive Committee (NEC) session, originally scheduled for December 15–16 but rescheduled to December 18–19. This caucus is the first since Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda emerged as the APC national chairman in July.
During the event, opening prayers were offered by Gen. Buba Marwa (retd.) and Akwa Ibom State Governor Umo Eno, reflecting the party’s diverse leadership. Our correspondent observed governors, former governors, and principal officers of the National Assembly in attendance. Notably, former Minister of Labour, Chris Ngige, was present hours after being granted bail by an FCT High Court.

Several governors who recently defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the APC were also seen at the meeting, including Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara, Enugu State Governor Peter Mbah, Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, Bayelsa State Governor Douye Diri, Akwa Ibom State Governor Umo Eno, and Taraba State Governor Agbu Kefas.
The APC National Caucus, over which Tinubu hosts APC caucus, serves as a key forum for the party’s leadership to align on political and organizational strategies ahead of broader deliberations at the NEC.
Party insiders say that the discussions during this session will help streamline decisions and priorities in the upcoming NEC meeting.
