Trump warns Iran of ‘very traumatic’ consequences if nuclear deal fails

U.S. President Donald Trump delivered a stark message to Tehran on Thursday, as Trump warns Iran of ‘very traumatic’ consequences if nuclear deal fails, underlining his determination to secure a diplomatic resolution to the ongoing negotiations.

Speaking to reporters a day after hosting Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the White House, Trump said he hoped for an agreement “over the next month” from Washington’s talks with Iran over its nuclear programme.

“We have to make a deal, otherwise it’s going to be very traumatic, very traumatic,” he said, reiterating Trump warns Iran of ‘very traumatic’ consequences if nuclear deal fails in his comments.

Trump’s warning came as Netanyahu expressed scepticism about the potential quality of any agreement with Tehran, saying any deal must address not only nuclear issues but also Iran’s ballistic missile programme and support for armed groups across the region. Critics argue that unless these broader concerns are included, a pact with Iran may fall short.

Trump warns Iran of ‘very traumatic’ consequences if nuclear deal fails, he added, stressing that failure to reach a deal could mean moving to a more forceful “phase two” of U.S. policy, though he maintained that diplomacy remains the preferable path forward
