A Nigerian secondary school teacher, Einstein J, has turned his math class into a live TikTok stream where viewers can send virtual gifts that affect classroom decisions. Gifts, which are worth real money, can lead to sparing students from punishment or homework.
In a viral clip, a student was being punished when a viewer asked for them to be let go. The teacher said, “Just 10 roses, he will go and sit down now.” Once the gift was sent, the student returned to their seat. At another point, he joked to viewers, “Give me 50 rose and I won’t give them assignment.”
The video has sparked laughter and debate online. X user @AsakyGRN wrote, “Teachers have started streaming on TikTok while teaching. This one demanded 10 roses before freeing a student from punishment and the audience delivered. 😂 this one nah new age teacher. 😂”

Other users expressed concern. @tobasthetruth said, “Wrong people doing one of the most sensitive jobs. At the end the guy may compromise the integrity of the profession.” @gifylicious added, “Some parents don’t like this for their kids. I hope he will be ready for the wahala when some parents start.”
While some see it as a creative way to earn extra income amid Nigeria’s low teacher salaries of $30 to 45 per month, others question the ethics of live-streaming students and letting public viewers influence classroom discipline.
