Sony and Honda have announced a partnership that will allow PlayStation games to be played inside their upcoming electric vehicle, positioning the AFEELA as a major step forward in in-car entertainment.
Under the collaboration, Sony Honda Mobility Inc. plans to integrate PS Remote Play into the AFEELA EV, making it possible for passengers to play PS4 and PS5 titles while traveling. According to VICE, the feature will stream games directly from users’ home PlayStation consoles to the vehicle, rather than relying on cloud gaming.
The system will support Sony’s DualSense controller, which connects to the car via Bluetooth and retains features such as haptic feedback. Gameplay can be displayed on screens mounted in the rear headrests or on the vehicle’s wide panoramic dashboard screen. For safety reasons, Sony Honda Mobility says front-seat occupants will only be allowed to play when the car is parked or charging.

Describing the setup, VICE noted that the in-car experience “essentially functions like the PlayStation Portal,” but replaces the handheld device with built-in vehicle displays and full-size controllers.
However, the gaming feature comes with limitations. Because PS Remote Play depends on streaming directly from a user’s console at home, the console must remain powered on and connected to the internet. “If the connection is lost, then no games can be streamed,” VICE reported.
Sony Honda Mobility also outlined connectivity requirements, listing 5 Mbps as the minimum internet speed and recommending 15 Mbps for smoother gameplay. Players are advised to use a wired internet connection at home to avoid lag and interruptions.
The AFEELA 1 will be the first production model from the Sony–Honda joint venture, with deliveries scheduled to begin in California in 2026, as both companies seek to merge mobility, entertainment, and gaming into a single electric platform.
