A video making rounds online shows the shocking moment a woman, Ella, slapped her boyfriend after he proposed to her at a friend’s wedding.
Ella was a bridesmaid and was giving a speech when her boyfriend walked up quietly, knelt down, and brought out a ring.
To everyone’s surprise, Ella turned around, slapped him, and walked away.
The video went viral on social media. Many people expressed shock and confusion.

Ella Explains Her Reaction
Reacting to the viral video, Ella shared her side of the story on TikTok, using the handle @usnella.
She said she was not in a relationship with the man and had already told him ‘no’ many times.
“You can’t be asking a lady out for the past how many months and she clear cut told you to your face that she cannot date you and gave you reasons why she can’t date you. One of the reasons is because he stays in Port harcourt and I stay in Lagos, I don’t do long distance relationship. I have made this clear times without number.”

Ella also said the proposal was wrong because it happened at someone else’s wedding.
“Why you go come come person wedding. A wedding that you and I were invited to and you’re coming to propose to somebody like does it make sense to you? Does it make sense?”
She warned people sending her threats after the video went viral.
“Make nobody enter my DM again to come and threaten me. Make nobody come threaten me because of you. I don talk am and I won’t say it again.”
Her “Boyfriend” Responds
The man, identified as @kingwizzyben on TikTok, told a different story.
He claimed they were actually dating and that Ella was not telling the truth.
“Apart from being friends, you know how we take meet. You know things wey me and you discuss, the chats are here,” he said. “We no dey date, why you been dey worry me make I move to Lagos? You dey find houseboy to employ wey youy dey worry me make I move to Lagos. Say you’re not okay with me being in Port harcourt.Saying we never dated, I dey disturb you, you no answer me. Ella, me? I dey disturb you, you no answer me?”
He said he would share their chats to prove they had a relationship.
He also mentioned that any joint investments they had would be stopped and asked Ella to prepare documents for a smooth separation.
The incident has continued to cause a buzz online, as people argue over who is telling the truth and whether the proposal should have happened at all.
