Popular travel YouTuber Adam the Woo, whose real name is Adam Williams, has died at the age of 51 after he was found unresponsive in his home.
The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office said deputies arrived at Williams’ residence at about 12:34 p.m. PST on Monday to carry out a welfare check. The visit followed concerns about his wellbeing. Officers were unable to make contact at the time.
Investigators later told TMZ that a friend, who had seen Williams the previous day, became worried. The friend returned to the house, climbed three floors of the building and looked through a window. He reportedly saw the YouTuber lying still on his bed.
Police went back to the home at about 5:53 p.m. EST with Fire Rescue officials, according to TMZ. Williams was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities said an autopsy will be carried out to determine the cause of death. No foul play has been reported.
Williams rose to fame through his YouTube channel, Adam the Woo, which he started in 2009. He became popular for sharing travel videos from theme parks, abandoned locations, roadside attractions and famous film sites.
In 2012, he launched a second channel, TheDailyWoo. On the channel, he posted daily vlogs for several years while traveling across the United States. In recent months, Williams had started creating travel content abroad and shared one of his last posts from London.
Fans and fellow content creators have continued to pay tribute to him. Close friend and YouTuber Justin Scarred confirmed the news in a Facebook post.
“The world has lost a giant, and I have lost a friend closer to me than blood,” Scarred wrote. “We lost Adam.”
Williams is remembered as a leading travel vlogger whose work inspired millions of viewers worldwide.
