Phyna sister’s death: Dangote offered N20m instead of $90m demand – Phyna

Reality star Phyna has accused Dangote Group of offering her family only ₦20 million as compensation after her sister, Ruth, died following injuries sustained in an accident involving one of the company’s trucks in Edo State.

Ruth was reportedly crushed by the truck in August and spent weeks receiving treatment before she died on August 31. Phyna had earlier demanded ₦1 billion in compensation, saying the figure reflected the medical costs and the suffering her sister endured. Many Nigerians criticised that demand as excessive.

In a new video update, Phyna said Dangote Group settled with the family for ₦20 million — a sum she called unacceptable given her sister’s expenses. She also alleged the company told the hospital treating Ruth to inject her with something that hastened her death to avoid rising bills.

“My mind is telling me Dangote group and company told Lagoon hospital to inject my sister so she will die,” Phyna said. “If I calculate wetin my sister don chop from when she dey baby class to this Auchi Poly wey she just finished, wetin be 20 million Naira?”

Phyna said she was furious when she learned about the settlement and that she paid large sums to remove her sister from the mortuary. “I don’t do online ranting. I go say what I want to say, Una go arrest me tire,” she added.

The alleged settlement and the claim that the hospital was instructed to end treatment raise serious questions. Dangote Group and the hospital have not publicly commented on Phyna’s allegations in this report.
