Chris Okafor fails to honor police invitation amid investigations into alleged sexual misconduct, with Lagos police confirming he did not appear as scheduled and his aides requesting more time.

Pastor Chris Okafor denies sexual misconduct, murder allegations, demands evidence

Founder of the Mountain of Liberation and Miracles Ministries, Pastor Chris Okafor, has denied allegations of sexual misconduct, abuse of authority, murder, and breach of marriage promise levelled against him by actress Doris Ogala, insisting that the claims are false, malicious, and part of a coordinated attempt to damage his reputation.

He said the Chris Okafor allegations being circulated online are misleading and without proof.

Speaking at a press conference in Lagos on Wednesday, his lawyer, Mr. Ife Ajayi, dismissed the accusations and accused Ogala and some social media influencers of launching a sustained media campaign for ulterior motives.

Ajayi explained that the controversy began after Ogala went on social media in December 2025 to make sweeping allegations against Pastor Okafor, which were later amplified by bloggers without verification.

He noted that the actress had previously claimed in 2015 that the cleric owed her N45 million, a claim that allegedly failed when it could not be substantiated.

He added that Ogala resurfaced shortly before Pastor Okafor’s wedding, allegedly demanding money and property based on claims of a previous relationship.

When those demands were not met, she reportedly escalated her narrative to include claims linking the cleric to her brother’s death and other crimes.

According to Ajayi, the accusations intensified after Ogala allegedly teamed up with influencer Martins Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan, and other online platforms to repeatedly portray Pastor Okafor as a serial offender.

He said consultants are now monitoring several blogs and social media accounts suspected of spreading defamatory content.

Ajayi stated that Pastor Okafor had already approached the police to investigate the Chris Okafor allegations, stressing that if the claims are proven false, those involved must face the law.

He confirmed that Ogala was arrested and questioned over alleged cyberstalking, cyberbullying, and threats to the cleric’s life before being granted bail on medical grounds.

He also referenced a previous out-of-court settlement between both parties, adding that court records contained no mention of any affair, misconduct, or wrongdoing.

Ajayi dismissed claims regarding a child linked to the pastor and allegations of a secret burial within the church premises, saying Ogala reportedly denied making such statements during police interrogation.

He further condemned the reckless use of social media to spread unverified claims, warning that freedom of expression does not cover defamation or endangering lives. He said the allegations have exposed Pastor Okafor and his family to threats.

Ajayi called on the public to remain calm and allow law enforcement agencies conclude their work, insisting that Pastor Okafor remains innocent and the Chris Okafor allegations must be backed with evidence.
