The 28-year-old’s brilliance was recognized individually as well. He was named UEFA Champions League Player of the Season, Ligue 1 Player of the Year, and finished as joint-top scorer in Ligue 1. He also featured in the UEFA Champions League Team of the Season and UNFP Ligue 1 Team of the Year.
The Best FIFA Men’s Player award is decided through votes from national team coaches, captains, journalists, and fans, each group contributing equally. Nominees are selected by experts based on performances over the year, and the voting process is overseen by independent observers.
FIFA President Gianni Infantino hailed Dembele’s achievement, saying, “Ousmane has shown exceptional skill, consistency, and sportsmanship. He embodies the spirit of modern football.”
Dembele’s award cements his place among the world’s elite players, celebrating a season of remarkable achievements and leadership on the field.
