Fashion designer Veekee James has shared her views on boundaries in marriage, revealing why her husband, Femi Atere, is not allowed to have a female best friend.
Speaking on the Off the Top podcast with VJ Adams, Veekee said she believes she should be the closest woman to her husband, which makes the idea of him having a female best friend unacceptable in their home. She explained that the rule is part of how they maintain peace and understanding in their marriage.

According to her, “Femi Atere can never have a female best friend. Even if he does, I’ll occupy that space with all of myself and my body alone.”
Veekee also addressed past online drama, recalling a period when people accused her of taking Femi from someone else. The negative comments affected her mental health, but she eventually moved past the experience.
Veekee and Femi got engaged in late 2023 and tied the knot on February 10, 2024. They celebrated their first wedding anniversary earlier this year.
