Tyson Fury, the WBC Boxing heavyweight champion, has urged the British government to do more to combat knife crime after learning that his cousin had been fatally stabbed.
On August 21, the heavyweight world champion revealed on Instagram that his cousin Rico Burton had been killed the previous evening.
He said: “My cousin was murdered last night, stabbed in the neck.
“This is becoming ridiculous – idiots carry knives. This needs to stop.”
He went on to demand the government “bring back higher sentencing for knife crime”.

He added: “It’s a pandemic.
“You don’t know how hard it is until it’s one of your own.”Life is very precious and it can be taken away very quick. Enjoy every moment.
“RIP Rico Burton – may the lord God grant you a good place in heaven, see you soon.”
According to the Manchester Evening News, Mr. Burton is thought to have been involved in a confrontation outside an Altrincham bar during which two individuals were stabbed.
So according to police, the incident happened at Goose Green, Altrincham, shortly after 3 a.m. today.
