A 35-year-old man named Emmanuel Aaron “m” has been detained by Meiran division officers of the Lagos State Police Command for damaging a communications mast in the Isoto neighbourhood of Meiran.
The suspect was discovered to have twelve solar batteries already loaded in their operating bus, a Ford with the licence plate FKJ 519 YF. The culprit was apprehended on Wednesday, August 17, 2022 at around 3:05 am in response to a distress call regarding the presence of vandals at the mast.
Upon spotting the officers, the suspect’s conspirators—who are still at large—took to their heels.
The state police command’s spokesperson, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the arrest and stated that an investigation is ongoing to apprehend the eluding conspirators and that the suspect would be charged once investigations were complete.
