Afrobeats icon Davido has expressed interest in acting, revealing that he hopes to play the role of a taxi driver in an upcoming film.
Speaking at the Africa International Film Festival (AFRIFF) panel session themed “Rhythms of the Continent: The Afrobeat Movement and Its Impacts on African Film,” Davido said he was eager to explore filmmaking and work with African creatives.

“My brother was saying he would give me a role. I told him I wanted to play a taxi driver or something out of the blue. He has to figure that out,” the singer said.
The artiste added that he draws inspiration from entertainers like 50 Cent, who successfully transitioned from music to film, and hopes to tell authentic African stories that connect with global audiences.
