Man United, Bournemouth share spoils in 4-4 Monday night EPL thriller

Manchester United and Bournemouth played out a dramatic 4-4 draw on Monday night, with teenage substitute Eli Junior Kroupi scoring late to earn the visitors a point in a thrilling Premier League clash.

United twice took the lead in the second half and thought they had sealed victory when Bruno Fernandes curled in a free-kick before Matheus Cunha struck moments later to make it 4-3. Bournemouth responded quickly, however, as Kroupi finished calmly in the 84th minute after being set up by Alejandro Jimenez.

The result leaves United sixth on 26 points, missing the chance to close in on the top four, while Bournemouth sit 13th on 21 points.

United goalkeeper Senne Lammens preserved the draw with a sharp stoppage-time save to deny David Brooks, as both teams finished with nine shots on target in a fast-paced contest.

“I suppose for the neutrals it’s been a nice game,” Bournemouth manager Andoni Iraola told Sky Sports. “It had everything.”

United manager Ruben Amorim expressed his frustration after the match.

“It’s really disappointing,” he told press men. “We dominated and created so many chances. In the end, we deserved more.”

Despite eight goals and constant momentum shifts, neither side could find a late winner, as the Premier League thriller ended with the points shared.
