Tragedy has struck Okitipupa, the headquarters of Okitipupa Local Government Area of Ondo State, following the killing of three children by a man suspected to be mentally unstable.
One of the victims was reportedly the suspect’s son, while the other two were said to be members of his extended family. Another victim of the attack was a female relative seeking admission into a tertiary institution.
The suspect allegedly hacked the victims to death with a machete inside their residence under unclear circumstances before fleeing the scene.

A resident of the community, who spoke on condition of anonymity, described the incident as shocking and difficult to comprehend.
“The victims include a student and two young boys. One of them is the attacker’s son, while the others are members of the extended family. It is a devastating loss,” the source said.
Confirming the incident, the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Abayomi Jimoh, said the suspect has been arrested and will be charged to court.
He added that the remains of the victims have been deposited at the State Specialist Hospital in the community.
