Love Island star, Jack Fincham, returns to rehab, admits relapse

Jack Fincham has confirmed he is returning to rehab after admitting he relapsed into drink and drugs.

The former Love Island winner said he feels “lucky” to have been offered help after speaking about his struggles in The Sun on Sunday.

Fincham said he had only £20 to his name and could not afford treatment.

Care provider Steps Together offered him a two-month programme at Rainford Hall in Merseyside. The treatment is worth £32,000 and includes therapy six days a week. It also includes exercise sessions with a boxing coach.

Fincham said:

“Talking about my problems with The Sun on Sunday could change my life. I told how I couldn’t afford rehab and this company came forward. I know I’m lucky. I can’t stuff this up.”

He added:

“I am going to work hard and not let anybody down.”

Fincham won Love Island in 2018 with Dani Dyer. He went to rehab in 2021 but relapsed before Christmas.

He said the earlier rehab did not work because he did not believe he needed help.

He told The Sun:

“I spent thousands doing rehab but didn’t truly believe I had a problem so came out with the same mindset.”

He said he started drinking again and it quickly spiralled out of control.

“A few months ago I thought it’d be OK to have a drink… But it spiralled,” he said.

Fincham also admitted he used drugs and laughing gas. He said he felt ashamed after a drunken incident over Christmas.

“I’m embarrassed, mortified. I feel like an idiot,” he said.

He told ITV’s Good Morning Britain that his addiction issues started before he became famous.

“This has been a part of my personality ever since my adult life, really,” he said.

Steps Together’s deputy CEO Steve Jones said:

“Jack wants to get better and we want to help him.”

Fincham said he is now focused on recovery and staying sober.
