At the 2022 MTV VMAs, Lizzo took a little opportunity to criticise comedian Aries Spears while winning her prize.
On August 28th, the singer received the Video for Good honour for her song “About Damn Time.”
She gave a speech after receiving her prize that was more of a clapback against Aries Spears.
Says Lizzo “And now, to the b**ches who spoke out against me in the media. I’m not going to say anything, you understand.”
She continued: “They be like, ‘Lizzo, why don’t you clap back?’ Cause b**ch I’m winning, ho. Big b**ches winning, ho! Best revenge is your paper, b**ch.”

Over the weekend, a clip went viral of Aries Spears dissing Lizzo during his interview on The Art of Dialogue.
When asked if Lizzo was a talented songwriter during the interview, Aries Spears made fatphobic remarks, adding, “I can’t get beyond the fact that she looks like the s**t emoji.”
