The Governor of Lagos State and Visitor to Lagos State University (LASU), Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, has officially commissioned and unveiled the newly constructed LASU Library Complex at the university’s main campus in Ojo.

The 4-storey, 350-seater state-of-the-art facility marks a major boost to academic infrastructure in the institution and underscores the Lagos State Government’s commitment to improving learning environments across tertiary institutions.

The modern library boasts several sections, including 24-hour reading rooms, seminar and conference halls, and administrative offices, providing both students and researchers with a conducive space for study and innovation.

During the commissioning, Governor Sanwo-Olu commended the university management for sustaining excellence and reaffirmed his administration’s support for educational development. He described the new library as “a beacon of knowledge and a symbol of Lagos’ investment in the future of its youth.”

The Vice-Chancellor of LASU, Prof. Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello, expressed gratitude to the state government, noting that the facility will greatly enhance the university’s academic and research output.
Students and staff of the institution have also hailed the project, describing it as a timely addition that will transform reading culture and promote digital learning on campus.
With this new development, LASU continues to strengthen its position as one of Nigeria’s leading state universities, setting new standards in academic infrastructure and innovation.
