Katsina: Police arrest Principal after stolen school equipment found in his home

The Katsina State Police Command has arrested the principal of Government Secondary School, Shargalle, in Dutsi Local Government Area over the alleged theft of school property.

The suspect, identified as Bashir Musa, 58, was arrested following an investigation into a break-in reported at the school on January 19, 2026. Police said unknown individuals had forced their way into the school laboratory in the early hours of the day and took inverter batteries and other equipment.

The case was later transferred to the Anti-Kidnapping Unit for further investigation. Officers traced some of the stolen items to the principal’s residence at Shadambu Low Cost, Daura, where several school property items were recovered.
