‘I was devastated’— Judikay opens up on losing sixth pregnanc

Nigerian gospel singer, Judikay, has opened up on the heartbreaking loss of her sixth pregnancy, revealing the emotional and spiritual battle she endured.

The singer shared her experience in a video posted on Instagram, recounting how the incident occurred in February 2025 when she was already over three months pregnant.

According to Judikay, the ordeal began with mild cramps while she was going about her daily activities, which she initially dismissed as nothing serious.

However, she soon noticed light bleeding, which rapidly worsened, prompting urgent medical attention.

She was rushed to the hospital, where doctors confirmed a missed miscarriage and carried out a dilation and curettage (D&C) procedure.

Reflecting on the painful moment, she said, “In February 2025, I experienced a pain that almost crushed me. I was pregnant well over three months.

“One of those days, I started experiencing cramps and thought it was nothing serious. Then came the spotting, and I immediately understood what it meant. I was devastated.”

Judikay added that the experience took a deep emotional toll on her, especially during the night when the pain felt overwhelming.

“In the silence of the night, I would feel a kind of pain I couldn’t express. I would wake up crying, asking, ‘Jesus, where are you?’” she said.

Despite the loss, the singer noted that her faith remained her source of strength, as she continued to seek comfort in God through the difficult period.

Judikay, whose real name is Judith Kanayo-Opara, is married to Anselem Opara. The couple got married in November 2020 and welcomed their first child, a son, in March 2022.
