President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has submitted the names of 32 ambassadors nominated to the Senate for confirmation, days after sending the first batch of three names.

In two separate letters to Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Tinubu requested that the Senate consider and confirm 15 nominees as career ambassadors and 17 nominees as non-career ambassadors.

This was disclosed on Saturday in a statement by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.

The statement noted that there are four women among the career ambassadors and six women among the non-career nominees.

The statement explained that the new nominees are expected to be posted to countries where Nigeria maintains strategic bilateral relations, including China, India, South Korea, Canada, Mexico, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, South Africa, and Kenya, as well as Permanent Missions such as the United Nations, UNESCO, and the African Union.

All nominees will know their specific diplomatic assignments after Senate confirmation.
