Farouk: $5m tuition equals 7.5b litres, probe needed, Femi Otedola reacts

Billionaire businessman Aliko Dangote has raised concerns over alleged misuse of public funds by NMDPRA CEO Farouk Ahmed, claiming that $5 million was spent on Swiss school tuition for his children, a sum Dangote says could have purchased 7.5 billion litres of petroleum products.

Dangote called for an urgent federal investigation and prosecution of the NMDPRA CEO, arguing that such spending raises serious questions about conflicts of interest, economic sabotage, and the integrity of Nigeria’s downstream petroleum sector.

Reacting to the revelation, billionaire Femi Otedola took to his X account to add his voice to the growing outcry. Otedola highlighted the shocking scale of the alleged expenditure and urged the authorities to ensure a thorough probe into the matter.

According to Dangote, the alleged $5 million tuition payment represents a misuse of public resources, and he emphasised that accountability must be enforced to protect Nigeria’s economy and taxpayers.

The call for action has sparked debates online, with many Nigerians questioning how such huge sums were allegedly spent on private tuition while public resources remain under scrutiny.
