One of the governorship aspirants under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ekiti State, Engineer Kayode Ojo, has promised to make salaries and pensions “compulsory statutory obligation” if given the opportunity to steer the affairs of the state.
Engineer Ojo made this promise in a statement made available to newsmen on Friday, stressing that he will never, for any reason embark on making promises that he will not be able to fulfill if he becomes the candidate of his Party and voted into office as the next governor of Ekiti State.

“In times like this when elections are approaching, politicians are usually fond of making incursion into the people’s minds, making tall promises in order to realise their set goals
“To me payment of salaries and pensions by any employer to its workforce is not a favour but a compulsory statutory obligation”
He maintained that uninterrupted and prompt payment of monthly salaries, all entitlements and pensions will be his priority to workers while even development will be given to all the nooks and crannies of the State.
For a secured and bountiful life for retiring workers, prompt payment of gratuity will be made top priority to enable them contribute to the economic development of the state through the lump sums of money that his Administration will be making available to them as gratuities on retirement.
The statement further quoted the seasoned engineer Ojo as looking forward to sharing a happy partnership with all and sundry in Ekiti State for its rapid development and to enable it take its rightful position in the comity of States in the country.
