Christian genocide: Over 600,000 christians in Benue IDP camps – Riley Moore

Riley Moore has raised alarm over what he described as Christian genocide in Benue, following a visit to several Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) camps in the state.

He said the scale of devastation he witnessed underscores an urgent humanitarian crisis affecting more than 600,000 displaced Christians.

During his visit, Moore met with dozens of survivors who shared painful accounts of the attacks that drove them from their homes. He noted that their testimonies reflect the depth of trauma associated with what many residents believe amounts to Christian genocide in Benue.

One woman recounted how she was forced to watch as her husband and five children were murdered. She and her unborn baby survived only by a narrow escape. Another survivor explained that her entire family was killed and her baby was violently ripped from her womb.

A male survivor described how his wife and children were hacked to death before his eyes, leaving his arm permanently damaged.

Moore stressed that with more than 600,000 Christians now living in IDP camps across Benue, the situation demands global attention.

He reiterated that these communities should be able to return to their ancestral homes without living in fear of escalating attacks, which he said further highlight the worsening threat of Christian genocide in Benue.
